I hope this was prepared right! It was a bit of a challenge, and even with my glasses on I hope everything matches up! This is like the Da Vinci Code.... just waiting to be cracked!
You are unusual(ly) hungry after you sleep, it is confusing.
I'm not sure where you found a problem, because I too, have gone over it a few times! Isn't this frustrating! (lol) OHH! I JUST SAW IT! "About" and "after" are very similar in the "Alternate Codon Code Chart". About=UCG After=UGC :) You must have switched the letters when looking it up.
And I'm assuming you put "your" just to make sense of my crazy sentence because it looked like I couldn't write a complete sentence if my life depended on it. lol
If you could double check this for me (or if anyone could) that'd be great!
Jacq Thorn, I think you miss-decoded the word "after" into "about" which threw you off the sentence. Otherwise you have it right.
Nice job, Carmen. I turned it into two sentences instead of using a comma. Here is my decode:
DNA: CAGTTACCATGAGCTGCTTACGCATGTAACTGAACGCATCTAAG RNA: GUCAAUGGUACUCGACGAAUGCGUACAUUGACUUGCGUAGAUUC AUG GUA CUC GAC GAA UGC GUA CAU UGA CUU GCG UAG (start) You are unusual(ly) hungry after you sleep. It is confusing. (stop)
Hi CarmenD,
ReplyDeleteI think that your sentence says:
You are unusually hungry about your sleep, it is confusing.
I am not sure if this is correct. I checked it twice and this is what I came up with.

This is what I figured I wrote (I took out the start and stop codons):
ReplyDeletemRNA: GUA CUC GAC GAA UGC GUA CAU UGA CUU GCG
DNA: CAT GAG CTG CTT ACG CAT GTA ACT GAA CGC
Which then translates to:
You are unusual(ly) hungry after you sleep, it is confusing.
